Crack Theatre Festival is looking for a Field Reporter!
Crack Theatre Festival is looking for a Field Reporter! Are you an emerging arts writer? Do you love experimental performance art? We’re looking for someone to interview and introduce our programmed artists, for feature on the Crack Theatre Festival website front page!
Applicants will be looking for an opportunity to meet a bunch of innovative and experimental artists working across Australia. They will be part of making a unique national theatre and performance arts festival geared specifically towards supporting the development of emerging artists and their practice. These artists will help shape the future of Australian arts practice.
The work could be done from wherever the Reporter finds themselves and has a flexible schedule, with the aim to present at least two profiles a week in the build up to the festival. Ideally, the Field Reporter will be able to continue their work at the Festival, continuing to interview artists, interviewing audience members, live-tweeting forums and panels, and working with our photographer and videographer to document the Festival.
Crack Theatre Festival is a not-for-profit organisation, run by practicing artists. Most of our staff are volunteers, so there is unfortunately only a small, Honourarium fee attached to this role. It would suit someone that’s interested in arts writing, trying to build their profile a little bit and wants to get an inside look at emerging works making their way on to the Festival circuit. Your work will be fully credited on the articles, with links to your twitter or website, and your name, bio and links will be listed along with our staff page on our website.
Reporters will be responsible for developing their own questions for artists, and can develop their interviews and articles as creatively as they wish!
For more details, check out the position description attached here: Field Reporter PD.
If you are interested in the position, please contact Finn O’Branagain and Hannah Strout, co-Artistic Directors on email@example.com, and provide a current CV of no more than 2 pages, with links to examples of your work.
