Applications have now closed for Crack Theatre Festival 2015
part of This is Not Art
Please keep in touch on our Facebook page or Twitter feed to get all the updates and reminders for next year’s Festival!
We’ll also be doing a call out for volunteers later in the year, so keep an eye out if you would like to be involved with the Fesival behind the scenes. We really appreciate the help to make Crack happen!
Yes, campers, it’s that time of year again…
Each October long weekend, The Crack Theatre Festival takes over empty spaces in Newcastle to create a FREE opportunity for artists from all disciplines, with varied skills, and at all stages in their career to flex their creative muscles and hone their craft.
Knock heads and mince words in our ‘Talk’ panel and forum series, sharpen your creative edge in our ‘Make’ master class and workshop series, and gain valuable feedback, performance experience, and a safe space to try new ideas through our ‘Work’ performance showcase.
Applications are open to anyone in Australia and across all contemporary performance areas, individuals and groups, works in development and finished works ready to tour.
We’re in the second of three years of our Australia Council funded Setting the Stages
initiative which allows us to financially support one artist group from each State and Territory to come to the Festival. Everyone who applies and is eligible is automatically considered for this funding.
Outside of this initiative, unfortunately the Festival cannot cover or organise your travel and accommodation, nor are we able to produce or develop your project; but we can offer (free of charge!): space to perform at the Festival, production and technical equipment and support, media exposure and the chance to increase your national profile, networking and skills development opportunities, letters of support for funding applications, and the best long weekend you’ve ever had.
Applications close 11:59PM Monday 30 March, 2015.
