Seated and blindfolded, this is an opportunity to listen and imagine. A journey through Newcastle’s noises, altered and arranged, with unusual sounds by different flutes and electronic resonances. An intimate response to sound in space.

“Listen to everything all the time and remind yourself when you are not listening”, Pauline Olivieros (1932-2016)

Created and performed by Sarah Monk, Sonant Bodies: James Maher, Victoria Pham

Sarah Monk graduated with a Bachelor of visual art from ANU in 2007, and a Bachelor of Music in flute from University of Newcastle 2017. She plays modern, Baroque and South Indian flutes.
