MAKE! ART! NOW!

MAKE! ART! NOW!

#StopCollaborateAndListen
Wanna be involved in a 3-festival strong performance experiment? Wanna make a brand new work with some stellar Crack Fest peers?
Wanna physically participate in extending the conversation we are having about Myth in Contemporary Performance across all the Festivals across the whole weekend?
Wanna do so using your own creative practice?
Well - sign up now.
MAKE ART NOW! Is a new initiative at Crack Theatre Festival this year to bring all the Festivals together - creatively. We don't just wanna talk about things - we wanna test them in practice. Where else can we stick together artists from all over the country, from a multiplicity of disciplines, to interrogate a creative idea, practically, on the floor, to further our collective creative knowledge?
We are looking for writers and performers.
If you want to write something - let it be inspired by the notion of Myth, and how it may operate in contemporary creative practice. And then send it to us, or give it to us on the first day of the Festival. It will go into the pool of writings that the performers will pour over and then interpret before our very eyes. Think outside the black box - write a Haiku or a short story, a scene or scenario. Don't feel limited to playwriting - we are here to test interesting ways of incorporating new writing into devised performance. Email questions/submissions to david@youngwritersfestival.org
If you want to perform - sign up now. You will be given space, time, a team and a bunch of writings to select from, and then on the final day of the Festival, you will present your creation in our main studio. Email ad@cracktheatrefestival.com to sign up now.
If you want to analyse and critique, 4 fantastic critical thinkers will be considering the experiment alongside all the discussions taking place on the topic TiNA wide. Their research and reflection will then be available after the Festival in Runway Conversations. Contact criticalanimals@gmail.com with questions/to sign up.
Crack Theatre Festival is SUPER EXCITED about this initiative. And you should be too - this is GROUND BREAKING STUFF.
